Getting Connected |
Maybe you’ve been coming to ECC for two weeks. Maybe you’ve been here from the start. Maybe you’ve tested the waters and now you’re ready to ramp up your involvement.
The first thing you need to know is this… |
We’re not space invaders. |
We hope you find us really, really friendly, not really, really intrusive.
There’s a pretty good chance that no one has been all up in your face about joining this group or signing up for that event.
You probably haven’t been guilted into baking seven dozen cookies for the preschoolers or had your arm twisted to lead a 40-week Bible study on Lamentations.
That’s by design.
We want this to be an environment where people can move along at their own pace.
At the same time, we believe life is best experienced together. The Bible stresses the importance of regular, meaningful relationships.
We’d like to help you discover why.
How do people get connected and develop friendships at Emmanuel Covenant? Here are just a few of the many ways… |
Come early, stay late. |
Our Sunday morning services are the initial onramp for most people. It’s our largest gathering as a community and the best place to meet people of all ages and backgrounds.
If you’d like to get better connected, we encourage you to come early and stay late.
We start brewing the coffee and setting out treats well before the service begins. Join us ten minutes before the service in the Connection Center.
The Connection Center is also the last place to close down on Sunday mornings. Join us for treats and conversation after the service too.
Remember, it’s no easier for someone to walk up to you than it is for you to walk up to them. Swallow hard, walk across the room, and introduce yourself. You’ll be glad you did. |
Programs & Special Events |
There’s always something just around the corner…
Family Camp, Boundary Waters trips, service projects, women’s events, retreats, conferences, bowling, game nights, open houses… The list goes on and on and on.
Give one a try.
Check the Sunday bulletin and website for the latest. |
Try a group. |
Small groups take many forms. Some people gather to discus the Bible, a book, or a topic. In a support group, people discover a safe community for encouragement and healing. Some groups gather around service projects or special interests.
Most of our groups run:
- September – December
- January – May
- June – August
Once again, check the bulletin and website for more info. |
Try serving on a team. |
Be part of something bigger than yourself. Use your gifts and experiences to serve others and develop friendships on the team along the way.
Here are a couple of the teams we have up and running… Just contact one of the team leaders and they can help get you connected.
